A part of me loves no-makeup makeup days when I’m too lazy to conceal all my imperfections and whip out the eyeshadow. There’s something really refreshing about sprucing yourself up a little but letting your skin show through. Although when I resized this image I noticed fine lines, a bit of redness, some spots, I actually kind of like seeing those things a tiny bit. On “down” days or days when I don’t film, this is what’s usually on my face. I swirl a pump of light-medium foundation over my face (review on what I’m wearing here coming VERY soon!) and apply some mascara (Avon SuperShock Max here) but I never feel ready to face the day until I have something on my cheeks.
Blusher is the thing that makes me look most awake, probably on par with mascara in terms of must-haves for me, and this is my favourite natural flush. “Blushing Fabric” is the perfect name for this product, it’s described as a “cushiony” formula and I can’t think of a better way to describe it. Intimidating in the tube, it blends like a dream and leaves you with a country walk glow and a finish that’s unlike anything else I’ve used before. Giorgio Armani always hit it out of the ball park when it comes to innovative texture and this is so realistic and skin-like. It sets to what can only be described as “human” – not powdery, not glossy or sticky, and it hangs around all day (this photo was taken in the evening). I use the shade 01 Shimmering Peach, but don’t let the name fool you, there’s no sparkle here! If you were a fan of Benetint in college like me, this might just be your grown-up equivalent.
Giorgio Armani Blushing Fabric retails at £29 and is available from Selfridges online.
