Last night I hotfooted it down to L’Oreal to see their Spring/Summer 2013 offerings. The high street/drugstore has been really knocking it out of the ball park at the moment (more on this tomorrow with Rimmel!) so I was excited to see what L’Oreal had up their sleeve and I was not disappointed, in fact I’m rather excited. I’ll be featuring these products in more detail on here and over on my YouTube channel (click here to subscribe) but here’s a quick overview of what’s to come.
A new Elnette Hairspray (with a new scent!) for sleek loose styles and the signature L’Oreal ponytail sported by the model shown above. Very Cheryl.
L’Oreal Color Caresse Shine Stain are the high street’s answer to the YSL Glossy Stain, and with L’Oreal being the parent company to YSL these are incredibly similar! Let me know if you want a first impressions video on my YouTube channel!
Nude Magique CC Creams are another launch that tickled my fancy, coming in three shades – Anti Redness, Anti Fatigue and Anti Dullness. Yep, that’ll do me nicely! These start out as purple, green and yellow lotions with flecks in and magically transform into a nude colour on the skin. I am somewhat dubious about ‘one colour fits all’ products but in terms of my skin tone, these really did blend out perfectly. I’d be interested to see these on very fair and darker skintones. So far they don’t seem too oily and have a lovely finish. More on these in another post!
The BB Blush is a similar product to the Smashbox O-Glow in that it comes out clear and transforms into a pink blush working with your skintone. This looked pretty on my hand but I’ve yet to test it properly!
A new Elvive Range, Smooth & Polish looks good for those of us that suffer with tangling issues and looks like it will provide some much-needed hydration.
A new mascara – False Lash Flutter looks lovely and I adore the packaging, and the Super Liner in Blockbuster looks like a great addition to the much-loved existing range.
The Feria Pastel Toning conditioners are something I can see being huge in the summer! Designed for light blonde hair these give a very subtle pastel tone in either apricot, pink or lavender. I’m so bummed to be a brunette right now! These last about 3 washes and are conditioners rather than dyes.
The new eyeshadow quads are gorgeous and judging by the models I saw last night, the perfect amount of shimmer.
Continuing the speckled nail trend these top coats are great, bringing salt and pepper finish to the high street. Independent stores have been experimenting with these shades for a while and it seems L’Oreal has picked up on the trend and put it in a purse-friendly format.
Finally I’ll also be giving the Code Lumiere BB Cream a whirl along with the Nutri Lift Gold Foundation designed to help with ageing and the Age Perfect Cell Renew!
An exciting set of launches I’m sure you’ll agree! These should all be finding their way onto a high street near you in the coming weeks!
