It’s that time of year again! The Debenhams Beauty Awards are here and this year I’ve been asked to be a Beauty Expert and vote for my favourite launches. Voting takes place over thirty six categories and if you’ve been particularly wowed by a product you can have your say over on the Facebook page here. The best part is that if you do you’ll be in with a chance of winning a whopping 36 goodies – five lucky people will win one of each product they voted for across the categories, which let’s face it, would be pretty sweet.

I had a good look at the categories and the nominated products and here are some of my top picks:

In the Body category I voted for the Red Carpet Manicure Gel Polish Pro Kit – This is easily the best product for me because it brings something previously only available in a salon to the masses in an easy to use format. Sure, if you’re resourceful or know a friend in the industry you can buy gel polishes and lamps online, but if you’re unsure and want to get one kit that has it all and will hold your hand along the way, this is the one for you. It comes with a perfect red shade that makes for a classic pedicure too, but the shade range is fab and you can buy those individually once you’re used to the kit. A really great product!

For skincare again I tried to look for innovation and nothing really says that this year quite like Astalift does. As both a skincare AND photography fan, this ticks all the boxes for me. In a nutshell, Fujifilm use this technology to stop film from degrading and thought “hmm, wouldn’t this be great if we could make an anti-ageing product that did this?” Well, they did, and that range is Astalift. Coming from Japan as most pioneering skincare treatments do, the range uses the smallest micro-particles ever used in beauty products. I chose the Jelly Acquarysta Rejuvenating Concentrate – the most unique and potent from the range.

Fragrance wise we all know that if my beloved Stella EDP had been in there, it would have got my vote, but I opted for another scent I love, Thierry Mugler’s Alien. When I was younger I dabbled with Angel, but my tastes have changed as I’ve grown up a bit and I love how spicy, unique and distinctive this is.

In terms of tanning, I was torn between Xen Tan and Vita Liberata, both firm favourites of mine! I opted for the former however once I tried their Dark Tanning Mousse. I’m a big fan of it’s lotion counterpart but the quick-drying nature of the mousse swayed me and better still it doesn’t dry your skin out at all and gives a lovely colour.

Makeup wise of course the innovative formula of the YSL Glossy Stains had to be my pick. Part stain, part gloss, these are really different to other stains on the market keeping your lips hydrated and making sure your colour doesn’t go anywhere. This peach shade from their Spring collection is to die for.

Don’t forget to head over to the Facebook page here to vote and be in with a chance to win your picks! Voting closes on the 14th February.
