I love oats and think they are a great start to the day, but they can get a little repetitive if you eat them often so I love coming up with different flavour combinations to keep it interesting. I’ve already shown you my Eton Mess Oatmeal as well as my Peanut Butter Banana version, but today I’m bringing you Bounty Bar Oats. Yep, these are creamy and full of chocolate and coconut just like the chocolate bar! If you want a more interesting breakfast option to satisfy your sweet tooth without resorting to cereals full of refined sugar and preservatives, look no further…

Ingredients
1/2 cup Oats
Milk of your choice - I used Almond Milk
2 tbs Cacao or Cocoa Powder
2 tbs Maple Syrup
Dried Coconut
Method
  • Add your oats and milk of choice to a pan on a low heat. Start with equal amounts of each and add more milk as you go along.
  • Let the oatmeal cook for a few minutes before adding anything else, as the cacao powder thickens things significantly.
  • Add your cacao powder and maple syrup to the oatmeal and continue to cook, stirring constantly to stop it sticking.
  • Add more milk as you go to reach your desired consistency, you may need more than usual to counteract the cacao powder.
  • Once cooked, add your oatmeal to a bowl and top with dried coconut for that perfect Bounty Bar taste!

This is seriously so delicious, it tastes creamy and decadent so it’s perfect for those days you have more of a sweet tooth. I’m a firm believer in giving your body a little of what it wants so that you don’t end up just binging on junk food later, and this is a great way to satisfy an urge for chocolate whilst still being kind to yourself. I just finished a bowl myself, the best way to start a Monday!
