We’ve been having a rather lacklustre summer here in Lancashire, but thankfully I got to spend some time in Italy last month and the blistering heat more than made up for it. Upon my return to the wet, windy shores of England I found myself longing for the lazy sun-soaked days and the sights and sounds of the beautiful Italian Riviera, daydreaming of colourful coastlines and cold beers.
Fragrance is so strongly linked to memory, a single whiff of a familiar smell can take you back in time and transport you instantly, so when I saw that The Body Shop had released a new fragrance, Italian Summer Fig, I got excited, really really excited.
First things first, the bottle has a new design compared to their previous perfume releases, personally I think it’s spherical, textured glass look is much more modern and sophisticated so I’m a big fan. This is the first fragrance in the new bottles and the others will be joining this Italian beauty soon. The scent itself is delicious, based on figs that The Body Shop sourced all the way from the Puglian coast – it is light, refreshing and smells like a summer day in a bottle.
If I smelled this blindly, I would assume it was from a much more expensive brand like Jo Malone, there is a delicate balance that would have you believe it came with a hefty price tag, but as always The Body Shop bring quality without a huge cost and this retails at £18. If like me you’re yearning for sunnier climes this is definitely one to try next time you’re in store.[show_shopthepost_widget id=”963937″] The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig EDT is available online now priced at £18 for 50ml.
